Kayak Review: Flight finder

Hello all again. I know I haven't posted much since my relaunch and I apologize. I have been planning my trips to Atlanta and Walt Disney World. I am also in the beginning stages of planning my trip to San Diego. To be honest I am waiting to take these trips in order to have content. Good news though, I will have a ton of content after next month. I go to Atlanta in October. You will be hearing from me a lot more often that means. :) However, I recently booked my flight to Orlando and wanted to share how I found the cheapest flight. I went through the flight finder called Kayak.

This isn't the first time I have used Kayak. I have used it before to find flights to New York, Alabama, and many more places. I loved it, but lately I am not as much of a fan.

I bought my flight about 70 days before my departure date. I got a good deal. I was looking for months before my trip for flights and every time it would hover around $250-260.

Kayak has a prediction on if the prices will go up or down, and for the most part they predicted they would rise and to buy then. However, when I came back 70 days before the prices were only $230.

I wanted very specific flight times so I could have saved more money if I was more flexible, but even then, my flights were pretty cheap compared to others.

Kayak used to be pretty accurate on the prediction of if prices would rise or not, however, I found they aren't as predictable as they used to be. They have started constantly predicting prices will rise when they have in fact dropped.

I would recommend Kayak to get a brief idea of the prices airlines are charging, but I would then search through the airline website itself, or go through another website like Priceline.

Kayak also doesn't search all airlines, they don't search Southwest for example, which at times can be cheaper. I also noticed I don't think they are able to search special deals and sales that the airline might be having on it's own. For this reason, do some research outside of Kayak because then you can ensure you are getting the best deal on flights.

We are flying Delta airlines. I have heard good things. I am excited to review them. However, my flight to Atlanta and all the fun things I will be doing there I will be able to review first and I am flying Southwest. I honestly can't wait to blog more consistently when I have some content.

For now, I will be posting periodically on my planning and where I will be eating out around where I live in California.

Also be sure to visit Kayak at www.kayak.com to try it out for your next trip. They can even search for hotels and rental cars as well as flights.
